What tuning did Ronald use during Transmissions and Clouds?

I've been really hitting the slider style guitar, and I mean to the point of only playing guitar with it now. I'm starting to get the open tuning, relearning all my chord shapes and what not, but I still cannot tell what tuning Ron used... Sometimes I swear hes playing in standard/drop D, other times I'm hearing a total open tuning (either E or D, most likely D)
Anyone know? I've been searching the internet for hours and cannot for the life of me figure out what hes tuned to. All I know is, if he uses standard tuning throughout, I got even more respect for this unique playing, which I didn't think was possible.
