Here it is, my first lips show, Spent the whole morning making a freak fist, getting supplies, getting extra odds and ends to hand out to people to wear.....and then I get to the show, the terror opens me up, and not a soul around me (steven's side) cares. In fact I was even asked to lower my hands so that the person next to me could take a picture of their friends up in the nosebleeds. I gave it my all, and still had a blast, yet i still feel the need to express my sympathy from Pittsburgh, Ive never once felt ashamed to be from this great city, until i watched our (lack of) ability to give love.
I really would like to hope that i was just in the wrong company ( only noise out of the guy next to me, actually going ecstatic when their set was over )
Since when has dancing and enjoying such a spectacle as the lips become the "distraction" to the crowd of people around the stage? why are you there? to poke at your phones? to not move? to not elevate?
Just a little rant, would love thoughts from anyone, thanks so much for taking your time to read this jibberish.
and to the Lips, my love, and hopes that you will come back again soon..

Oh man, that was my impression of the show too! I actually checked this board just to see if anyone else had an experience like that last night.
My first time seeing the Lips, I was psyched out of my mind to be there. My friend and I were the only people in our block of seats dancing, everyone else kinda acted like they were just at the movies or something. As much love as I have for Pittsburgh, I feel like that was just a pretty pathetic reception for such a wonderful band. It made me a little sad to see Wayne trying to raise the energy there and getting almost no response. I saw a few Freaks dotting the crowd though, so you're not alone!
I'm dying to make another Lips show, just crossing my fingers for a warmer crowd. Hope you get to have a better time next time around too.
But yeah, that was pretty baffling.

Thank you to all, i was truly heartbroken until i had seen that i was not alone in feeling this way, what do you think the chances are of the lips actually seeing our posts??
Im considering writing a letter to them, I just want to make sure that they are VERY VERY welcome and loved in Pittsburgh haha
