Spending the last 3 months going through an existential Sea Change, an amicable separation, using mushrooms and my dad's computer (while they wintered in Florida--I am a Grown Man after all, believe me) the Flaming Lips inadvertently brought me to hours of beautiful music...and much of which isn't/wasn't theirs. They are my favourite band absolutely. Right now listening and loving Deerhunter. I first was exposed to them watching Wayne Coyne and his clam buddy accost Bradford Cox with confetti guns etc. Hilarious. Then checked out Deerhunter. Beautiful. After that I checked out Neon Indian. Again...
Through youtube I was exposed to similar bands. Grimes, Starfucker, Tobacco. Many more. so many more that I worry the planet will not be able to keep up with its psilocibin production.
