The Misanthropic Cow wants the Flaming Lips!
Hello Wayne / Mike / Steve / Derek,
I've got a bit of an usual gift / favour to ask of you fine quartet of musicians - if you're interested, read on! (Since you're into cow things, based on some of the Michael Jackson's Freak Space Cow writings in the DVD audio version of Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, you may find this intriguing). My name is Nathan C. Lalonde, and I'm a Toronto based photographer / filmmaker / audio producer who specializes in making some of the strangest, most darkly psychedelic works you'll ever see. Tyrannical vegetable monsters, giant asylums with pig brains pouring out, captives subjected to waterboarding, mysterious figures draped in painted cloaks - these are the sort of things that I like to depict in my works, rather than the vapid stares and blank backgrounds found in the majority of "serious" art. Anyway, I'm currently in the midst of doing a film titled the Misanthropic Cow, which stars a large breasted / uddered cow attempting to live amongst an oppressive human society. Many shenanigans occur - she stars in an opera, works at a burger shop frying up her people, joins the Occupy movement, becomes a hooker, etc. It's like Homer's Odyssey, only more modern, far stranger, and with more cattle. Anyway, I'm about 80% done the film, but unfortunately those final bits of production are the most costly / expensive - hence the need for the aforementioned Kickstarter. (renting opera houses ain't cheap!) I'm not asking you guys to donate - that would be creepy / selfish - but would you guys be up for posting a link for the Kickstarter on your Twitter / Facebook pages? You guys have a large audience that would probably really like the film, and this small favour would mean the world to me - it's not easy funding a film on two minimum wage jobs.
As compensation for your favour, I'll let you use some of my photos (if you'd like) in your artworks / videos. I think that they'd fit nice with your aesthetic and colourful music (albeit music that seems to become less colourful and more terrifying with every release), and I'd be glad to let them be a part of your collective work.
