Rudolfo Carrillo writes essays, meta-narratives, poems, parodies, and other textual devices that draw upon the literary structures suggested by Borges, Joyce and Mailer.
Carrillo was educated at and received a Fine Arts degree from the University of New Mexico. For the past seven years, he has lectured full-time on the subjects of computer applications and database design at Brookline College, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Previous to this appointment, he held professional postings at The University of New Mexico and Albuquerque Public Schools. He has also worked as a newspaperman, as both as contributing writer and senior account executive, for a large alternative newsweekly.
His work has appeared in a wide range of publications, including daily newspapers, literary magazines, alt-weeklies, art and music criticism sites, and city-blogs. His experimental writing website, Infinity Report, was recognized in 2007 as one of the best blogs in New Mexico, and has been graciously linked to by Internet poet laureate Ron Silliman on Silliman’s blogroll.
Additionally, Carrillo is the Managing Editor of Things in Light, a hip and expansive city-blog that he co-authors with his partner, Samantha Scott, a local music critic and American Studies scholar.
In his spare time, Carrillo enjoys keeping his personal spacecraft tidy, obsessing over the last episode of The Prisoner, listening to rocanrol, visiting with his best friend, Cthulhu, and chasing ghosts through cyberspace and into the chrono-synclastic infundibulum. He will be much happier once the stars are right.
